Description

The SSD TRX-4 Rear Axle Portal Delete Kit is a CNC machined tuning option that reduces ride height, lowering the center of gravity for improved stability. Plus, by removing the portal boxes the gear reduction is eliminated helping to provide increased top speed.

NOTE:

• This kit changes the direction the wheels spin.
• Body will need to be raised a few holes on the body posts.

I found it a little weird that they use metal shielded bearings on the outer parts of a truck made for off-roading and likely to see water use. 1 customer found this review helpful. kevinb120 Verified Owner Wednesday, Aug 13 2025 (7 weeks ago) SSD RC Rear Axle Portal Delete Kit for Traxxas TRX-4 (Black) Excellent quality kit. Everything fit perfectly and top notch machining and finish. I used these for the full option TRX4 to keep my lockable diffs, rather than a sport where an axle swap is more feasible. Build is for a 69 Blazer body from a stripped 79K5 with 108X38MM narrow tires for scale. The shorter track works perfectly with Treal vintage rims. Biggest difference is the loss of ratio. For a very simple fix the 45T Holmes will get you to near exact stock performance with the stock pinion. I used this for a bit but am switching to the 1200KV Fusion as I’ve become quite addicted to them, and I need a reason to collect the whole set… For this rig went to much softer springs and 15W oil and strategic weights some higher than normal to get the body to behave like the stock truck it’s modeling versus my hoard of typical laden hard core pack rats. Still quite competent and really fun to scoot around on smooth dirt too. Still has some increased torque twist with the motor torque boost and less drivetrain reduction required to slow it back down. But actually looks the part for this particular ol’ truck. It’s a nice option to get a TRX4 down to normal ride height for a trail-only scale build. View all reviews
