Constructed from black Oxide coated high grade carbon steel and heat treated steel components to help increase longevity, this optional X-Duty style CVD kit is intended for the Traxxas line of vehicles including; Slash, Rally, Stampede 4×4, Stampede VXL, Rustler VXL, Nitro Stampede and Nitro Rustler to supremely boost durability and performance by replacing the stock composite driveshafts!

This printed instructions are okay, but the YouTube video fast tracks the process. Maxx Davidson Friday, Jan 28 2022 (about 3 years ago) MIP X-Duty Rear CVD Drive Kit for Traxxas Slash/Stampede/Rustler/Rally I have owned these for my stampede 4×4 and they are strong but very very heavy so you acceleration will be worse. Another problem I have had with these is it wore out my diffs really fast, you could wobble the diff outputs a lot, and when you accelerated you could see the drive shafts moving up and down from the slop. So I bought the tekno m6 shafts and my truck was able to do standing backflips because the rotating mass was significantly less with the tekno drive shafts. Dan Sunday, Mar 2 2025 (7 months ago) MIP X-Duty Rear CVD Drive Kit for Traxxas Slash/Stampede/Rustler/Rally I ordered a set of these for my Slash 4×4 Ultimate (kit) with the (now defunct) Pro-Line ProTrac longer a-arms about 10 years ago. This was well before the new “super heavy duty” stuff came out, and the old-school stock plastic driveshafts twisted up pretty quickly. Over the years I’ve made this truck an over-geared drag truck with 1/8th scale electronics, a long-wheelbase monster truck, a typical 4×4 short course truck, and its current form, a weird truggy kinda thing. The X-Duty’s have survived and been a constant throughout, and I have not regretted their purchase once.
Others have mentioned that they’re heavy, which they are, but lets be honest the Slash 4×4 never really competed at the level where driveshaft weight actually matters. I also haven’t experienced the same diff wear others have mentioned, this truck has the original diff gears from the kit. I’ve had to replace the fluid a few times, bearings, and x-ring gaskets, but the actual gears haven’t gone wrong.

I’ve Always liked MIP’s products, until now. If you are running these on Traxxas cars, be very aware of how tightly you run the lock nuts down on the wheels. Since there is only one set screw on the 12mm hex nut and no backing pin to limit the hex nut’s movement, the outer hub bearings will be crushed! I have had this happen 4 times and I finally decided to take them off my cars.
MIP needs to add a backing pin or a second set screw to the hex nut to prevent causing damage to the outer hub bearings.
Fix this one problem MIP and these would be perfect.
