Description

The Protek R/C 2600mAh HV LiPo Receiver Battery Pack brings LiHV power to your servos! This battery is a direct fit in Kyosho and Tekno 1/8 scale battery boxes, and will provide improved power and response from your HV servos.

These packs are built with a lexan plastic shell around the outside of the battery, and then covered in blue heat shrink. The lexan shell is designed to protect the battery cells while in the vehicle, for longer life. Note that due to the lexan shell, sometimes the battery may feel soft to the touch on the outside of the battery; this is normal as there is a small air gap between the lexan shell and the battery cells inside.

Specifications:

  • Case: Lexan shell covered with heat shrink
  • Weight: 100 grams (including wire and connector)
  • Li-Po cell arrangement: 2S2P

  • Discharge capability: 8C continuous (20.8A)
  • Dimension (LxWxH): 54x31x31mm
  • Connector: JR Style with thick 20AWG Silicone Wire
  • Balancer Plug: XH style (Align, E-Flite compatible)
  • Recommended Application: Kyosho and Tekno vehicles, 1/10th & 1/8th scale nitro models, Helicopters and Airplanes

IMPORTANT:
1) DO NOTleave the battery in your model when charging
2) DO NOTleave unattended when charging
3) ALWAYSbalance charge the battery
4) ALWAYS use a LiPo charging bag
5) YOU MUSTuse a Li-Poly specific charger to charge the pack (NiMH or NiCD only chargers WILL NOT WORK!)
6) YOU MUSTnot over discharge the Li-Poly battery pack
7) READ & UNDERSTANDthe instructions carefully before operating this battery

NOTE: When using high energy Li-Polymer Batteries, please do not over-discharge or over-charge batteries as this will result in over heated batteries. Discharging capacity can’t exceed 80% of the max capacity of the pack after full charging to ensure a good cycle performance. It is recommended to fully charge a brand new battery before using and only discharge the battery 50% for first 5 cycles. Always monitor race time and/or set a low voltage warning on ESC (End voltage cannot be lower than 3.2v per cell). Do not use the battery that has too low a voltage.
Do not expose batteries to sunshine or store/charge batteries at the temperature above 35°C or in a closed car. The high temperature environment could cause damage to the pack or make it burst. If the battery becomes hot while fast charging, high current discharging or racing, do not charge the battery until it has cooled completely. Wait about 20 mins, then inspect prior to recharging.

Casey Holmes Verified Owner Friday, May 20 2022 (about 3 years ago) ProTek RC HV LiPo Hump/Short Receiver Battery Pack (Kyosho/Tekno) (7.6V/2600mAh) Purchased 2 of these in April 2020. Right out of the box, resistance readings were 96 and 59 mOhms. They fit pretty well in my Tekno NB48 2.0 buggy and had some side-to-side gaps, so I added some adhesive felt pads to the sides and lid of the box to cut down the abrasion. I trimmed away some of the box’s plastic near where the battery wires exited the box because it looked like it could pinch the wires.
Performance was excellent. My ProTek 170SBL steering servo was extra responsive on the high voltage. Run times were top-notch — no surprise since normally these only power servos & receiver. But I run strong servos, a MyLaps transponder, plus a LapMonitor transponder, all at the same time, all the time, and my throttle servo is fighting a rubber band failsafe so that’s gotta be a slightly higher power draw than the average nitro buggy.
In August 2021, a friend wanted to try out nitro buggy but needed some help, so I gave him one of my batteries since I figured I didn’t really need 2 of them. The battery I kept went from 59 mOhms when new, down to 56 mOhms after 1 year, then crept up to 63 mOhms earlier this month (May 2022). Unfortunately, last weekend it spiked to 296 mOhms at the same time that cell #1 went to zero voltage. I know they don’t last forever but being a premium make/model, I purchased it expecting to make it to the 4/5 year mark, or at the very least 3, but this one made it just past 2 even though I’m diligent about storage charging (to the point that I datalog resistance/voltage readings). 2 of 3 customers found this review helpful. Fits perfectly in my MP10! Joshua Voes Verified Owner Wednesday, Dec 27 2023 (about a year ago) ProTek RC HV LiPo Hump/Short Receiver Battery Pack (Kyosho/Tekno) (7.6V/2600mAh) I’m using this pack in an Inferno MP10. It fits well enough but put a piece of foam in the battery box to help snug the fit up. View all reviews
