Anonymous Verified Owner Tuesday, Jun 29 2021 (about 4 years ago) Robinson Racing RC10B6.1/RC10B6.2 Aluminum Layback Differential Gear (52T) I noticed a rough spot in my transmission and tore it apart today to find that my differential gear was wobbling.
After testing both outdrives and then the stock differential gear, I found that the robinson racing diff gear was warped.
With a caliper I measured 4.1mm from centerline to width of the gear, and on the opposite side 4.3mm.
I’ll be sticking to the stock plastic gear for now.
I suspect that some extra material was laying under the aluminum block, or the CNC bed / head was not aligned when they machined one or both sides of the gear.
Other than the alignment issue, the machining is nice and the material seems strong and lightweight.
