You’ll never have to set charge preferences for a Spektrum Smart battery until you want to. When a Spektrum Smart LiPo battery is connected to a Spektrum Smart charger, unique parameters and health of that Smart LiPo battery upload from the Smart memory microchip integrated into the battery. Through the charger, you can view and set preferences, such as charge rates, so that all you have to do to charge the pack every time is press the charger “Start” button. Smart technology takes care of the rest.
Every Smart LiPo battery is factory assembled with the next-generation IC3 or IC5 output connector that’s conveniently compatible with older devices equipped with robust EC3 and EC5 connectors. You can use Smart Batteries with older systems, but only when connected to a Spektrum Smart device will all the benefits of Smart technology become obvious.

They also take a heck of a beating. Which I’m sure the hard case helps with but I’ve had other brands of hard cased lipo batts that were crap and didn’t take near the bouncing and banging these do in my trucks. Avoid these if you can and buy Gens Ace instead (sad to say, but Gens is so much better for hard bashing). I did not buy them from amain due to shipping restrictions, however, we own 4 of these 100C 3S LIPO’s for an Arrma Kraton 6S v5.HH support is VERY hard to get a hold of…they take many WEEKS to respond to messages. Also, warranty is non-existent and is not properly honored in Canada despite claims that they do even by their Canadian retailers.
Based on our experience, these batteries are NOT suitable for “bashing” in 6S Arrma cars. We had the same issue with 4x 50C Spectrum batteries for our other Notorious 6s V5. One pair of 100C lasted only 3.5 months, another pair lasted only 6 months (with much charging issues using SP150 or Dynamite Prophet charges)…despite excellent LIPO care, these are very weak and cannot handle 6S bashing, high jumps, etc. We have Gens Ace 50C, 4 month old, which have taken MORE “punishment” than these HH batteries…and Gens Ace still almost as good as new! 3 of 6 customers found this review helpful.
