Jorge Verified Owner Sunday, May 12 2024 (about a year ago) SSD RC Rock/Baja Rey Scale Steel Rear Driveshaft ok I had to purchase a new driveshaft for my baja rey because stock one got stuck and I did not have a loctite remover and had to break it apart such a noob. So I tested SSD as it was cheaper than the stock plastic, is thinner, probably heavier.
I tested it with 3200kv, 3s at 55%, worked well for the first run. I give it 4 stars because the screws do not fit the baja rey outdrives so you have to use stock ones (hopefully you did not lose or destroy them like me) or purchase a set LOS236003. I tried using shaft screws from different cars but all of them were thicker (MST, Axial, Losi, etc).
Update: I raced an entire weekend on a buggy track with ramps and very soft and unpredictable terrain and the ssd driveshaft did its job. I will change my rating to 5 stars but keep in mind that you need to purchase a set LOS236003 if you lost one or two of your shaft screws. I cannot screw this nut (M4 set screw) into Pinion Gear.
The diameter of the M4 set screw is much larger than the hole diameter of Pinion Gear.
I cannot drill Pinion Gear into a larger diameter as I do not have such a strong, powerful drill bit for drilling Pinion Gear hardened steel.
It is also impossible to use a M4 set screw from a stock model plastic driveshaft as it dangles due to the fact that the holes are much larger than it. View all reviews
