The Tamiya Lunch Box Mini 1/24 Mini Kit takes the classic Lunch Box body and shrinks it down to fit on top of the 4WD SW-01 chassis. It is capable of 4-wheel steering using separately sold Upper Arm Connectors that not only allows you to steer with all four wheels on the ground, but it also allows the vehicle to steer while doing wheelies!

Features:

• The steering uses 1-piece upper arms for a tight turning circle and the body leans to help suppress tumbles
• It can be converted into a 4-wheel steering setup with TAM54898 SW-01 Upper Arm Connectors (not included)
• The body is attached to the body mounts using magnets for quick attachment
• The included Type 370 motor is located right in the center of the SW-01 chassis, in a gear-driven 4WD setup with a gear ratio of 21.875:1
• 1/24 scale R/C model assembly kit
• The famous Lunch Box body is molded in lightweight and durable polycarbonate and is pre-painted
• The body leans in the direction in which the model steers, achieving remarkably tight turning circles
• Responsive 4WD
• Strut style suspension
• Can be used with standard size servos and R/C equipment despite its compact nature
• Big, tread patterned tires give superb traction and add to the overall cartoonish look of the Lunchbox Mini
• Dish type wheels
• Compatible with Tamiya LF Battery LF1100-6.6V Racing Pack (M-Size) as a power source

RC Driver Friday, Mar 7 2025 (7 months ago) Tamiya Lunch Box Mini SW-01 1/24 Mini 4WD Monster Truck Kit Pure nostalgia buy. No regrets. Just as I remember Tamiya kits from the 80s, this was a fun build with the same incredible instruction manual style. Pre-painted body comes out looking like the photos after you put on like 100 stickers.
Uses full size electronics despite being tiny. Typical Tamiya engineering. I used a small lipo rather than the weird AA holder accessory though. You don’t need much, the little brushed 380 motor isn’t power hungry and this isn’t a racer.
Super fun indoor driver. Wheelies, stunts, or just ripping around the living room. Not well suited for outdoor use. I did get the accessory bars for steerable wheelies, not worth it IMO, they work but there’s not much steering. Also blew out the factory driveshafts eventually and went aftermarket. Other than that, building and driving a lunchbox again just puts a smile on your face.
