Shawn Noe Verified Owner Wednesday, Oct 30 2019 (about 5 years ago) Tekin RS Gen3 SPEC Sensored Brushless ESC I bought 2 for 2 stock buggies, 17.5 2wd buggy and 13.5 4wd buggy. I am having problems with both.
The 2wd acts like there’s no sensor wire, it’s so bad I had to be push started to get the buggy going. I used 2 brand new sensor wires, same crappy results. Seemed ok once moving, possibly slightly down on power. 2nd it my Andorid Hotwire app refuses to program it. I updated the ESC via the PC Hotwire app and was able to program it from the PC version. But when I got to the track and tried my Android Hotire again, it said the same thing, incompatible version.
Regarding the 13.5 4wd buggy, this ESC is not intended to be used. I could barely run half of a heat and apparently the ESC was thermalling. At the time of this writing, A-main is not advertising this ESC is NOT intended for 13.5 4wd buggies, as it is listed on Tekin’s website (just checked). Tekin’s website states it’s for 17.5 offroad only, and up to 13.5 touring cars. At least this one connnects to my Android Hotwire, but there is no low voltage cutoff setting, and there is no motor temp setting as initially I thought one of those two may have been the issue. Even this one exhibited some standing start issues… like delyaed a seond (tried 2 NEW sensor wires with this one too). 3 customers found this review helpful. This particular one is for spec car racing and really has changed how the car responds. I really like the simplicity of it and very easy to install.
