The Ecopower 640T 13g Waterproof Metal Gear Digital Sub Micro Servo is an incredibly powerful sub micro option developed to provide a more rugged upgrade for the Traxxas TRX-4. Also, when paired with the Samix TRX-4M Brass Servo Mount (SAMTRX4M-4068 – Sold Separately), this makes a great upgrade for the Traxxas TRX-4M. But, this servo is a great upgrade for any sub micro servo application!
Delivering 64 oz-in of torque and .09 transit speed at 6.0V, the 640T will operate at a level that makes other sub micro servos feel inadequate in comparison. The servo features an all metal gear train for durability and waterproof circuitry that will stand up to the elements. So if you’re tired of your small servos delivering small performance and want to try something with more muscle, step up to a 640T and shift performance into high gear.
SIZE NOTE:The 640T is not an exact physical copy of the 2065 and is a few millimeters taller, and may not work in all other applications where the 2065 is used. Please see the Compatibility tab for verified model compatibility.

The 640T fits nicely and seems to be strong. My truck shifts smoothly and effortlessly now. Its faster and stronger than the stock servo which died after about 2 weeks of light use. Since I bought it I’ve been out more driving my truck in the creek with this while its been raining and snowing and no problems at all. It doesnt get hot like the stock servo did. I purchased three of these on March 7th 2020 and six months later one has began to fail while the other two are still working strong. This does not fit without grinding out part of the chassis, but I made it fit and it works great. 5 stars because they don’t claim that it would fit. I went the DIY route…..I used wire cutters to snip off a little bit of the stock servo mount, as the servo is a little bit too big, and it’s held up really well and steers super fast. You have to modify one of the servo horns that came with it, as the Traxxas servo uses a micro servo with a full size output gear.

I put it in a new Hackfab late model conversion for the mini B and it didn’t last long enough to adjust the steering. Unhook the servo horn and it works hook the horn back up and it turns one direction then stops. Unhook it again and it works put servo horn back on and nothing. Not impressed! I’d like to try the ecopower 827 but a little gunshy after this. If you want a bad customer experience try horizon hobby junk. New servo works great opened up the bad one and there was wire strands bridged where the servo lead was soldered to the circuit board. Performance was great the first time I ran the truck. Then after cleaning it lightly with clean water and NO compressed air the servo died due to water damage. Just keep buying the traxxas servos OR buy Savox. They may be power hungry but Savox at least can produce a truly waterproof servo. Hope this helps someone. Cheers. Having the metal gears is great, plus the torque and speed are just over double that of the stock unit. Granted, they are not the highest end servos that you can buy, but double the performance for the same price as stock? I recommend that you combine these with Hot Racing TRXF24P06 aluminum control servo links to get full metal to metal all the way to the control link. Happy trails! View all reviews
