Bryson Kahaloa Verified Owner Wednesday, Nov 17 2021 (about 3 years ago) Tamiya TT-01 Aluminum Bumper Stopper (Blue) Bought this for one of my TT-02’s. The reason why I chose this over the carbon fiber version was simple: this matched all the Tamiya Blue anodized parts on it. Nothing against carbon fiber but while my car would benefit from the weight savings, it’s still a drift chassis so parts need to be durable enough to handle some big crashes.
While this is marketed for TT-01, you absolutely can use this on the TT-02 chassis to get rid of the stock “air dam” plate which is heavier. You won’t have to use the aluminum spacers on the TT-02 as compared to the TT-01 which requires it. Another benefit to fitting this, even to a TT-01, is that your suspension will now have more room to travel and not feel as restricted. If you ever decide on using TRF big bore dampers or any other 50-55mm knockoff like the Yeah Racing dampers, using the stock “air dam” is almost impossible so you definitely need to consider one of these plates if you plan on using something better than the super CVAs or the kit standard friction shocks.
In closing, there’s no reason NOT to get this plate. Better weight savings, more breathing room for shocks, looks to match other anodized Tamiya parts and it’s cheap. Why wouldn’t you buy one?! 1 customer found this review helpful. View all reviews
