Problem is that it is made from a very poor and brittle aluminum. As long as you don’t ever bump anything then this a great bumper. Mine broke while in low gear running into a rock. I guess having this bumper survive a bump is too much to ask. If you drive your TRX-4, I would avoid this thing like the clap. 9 customers found this review helpful. I wasn’t bashing my SCX10, but I wasn’t being gentle with this mounted and it broke at the mounting screws and air vents. The bars are mounted via screws and they tend to walk loose so throw some blue loctite on all screws for peace of mind. I’d give it 3.5 ?? but four is closer to how I feel about it. I’m going to buy another one, but purchasers be aware, it’s more about looks(it does look really good) than durability with this bumper. I wish it were tougher, but at $35 you get what you pay for. I was adding an RC4WD winch,… you have to make it fit, not 100% compatible when setting up with a Traxxas Defender. The lights are a cool addition as well.
I have had this for quite a while and normally don’t write reviews and was going to buy another do to the fact mine just broke because the metal is very weak and thin where the bottom of the bumper connects to the angle pieces.
So I will probably go with another brand next time because I know I will hit a rock again.
